I read with interested that the firmware for my PS3 would soon be updated, I switched on – and there was the new download. It’s looking good so far with scalability for DVDs for HD, better security, printer support – but the biggest thing being the ability to link through to media servers with videos and pictures. It also supports viewing material via your PSP over the internet for the first time. The official line says:
- upscaling DVD and game video output?
- copying saved data to a memory card
- DLNA usage (linking to media servers)
- printing images
- remote play via your PSP via the internet (outside the home)
- you can edit CD information
- super white settings are supported for video output
- Download Management has changed
I’ll see how it all pans out.
