I am excited to hear rumours today that we might see a corporate iPhone from Monday. I’m still not sure what this really means, but watch this space. You can find out more here.

I doubt we will see any real exchange integration until iPhone 2.0. Such a feature, only available on the new model, would be a huge driver for folks to buy the new phone, and would be in keeping with Apple’s iPod lineage (only patches to support new media deals on iTunes and no real extra features unless you get the newer hardware).
I’m waiting for the new iPhone and will get one for my wife. The exclusive carrier of AT&T will also be a real killer to enterprise market share. They gotta open that up–there are tons of folks that would upgrade to the iPhone, but are locked into a contract and are thus prevented from doing so without termination fees.

Brian, I think you’re right. All we’re going to see is a way for businesses to purchase iPhones on corporate tariffs and not have to activate their phones through iTunes.

Oh, and I don’t think we will see iPhone 2.0 until late 2008, early 2009. I also don’t think AT&T will non-exclusive until 2012.

So – nothing really happened. You can buy an iPhone through your company agreement – but you’d be mad to.
