Well I've definitely had problems with the iPhone 4. In our office it seems to have much worse reception than the 3GS and is dropping calls like a drunken juggler.

Pls fix this Apple!

Finally got it sorted! Got my UK T-mobile BB8100 pearl and TTGO920 working with data.

1) Upgrade BB8100 to latest OS (currently 4.5.0.174)
2) Upgrade TTGo920 to latest software
3) In the BB, go to Options, Advanced Settings, TCP
4) Delete any entries for APN, User and Password (note them down first if entries exist though)
5) Delete any pairing on the BB and the TT
6) Pair devices
7) If not automatically asked, go to "my tomtom services" to start data connection setup
8) Select UK, Then T-Mobile (UK) Contract
9) It WILL fail at 65% - just wait
10) Choose to set up the connection manually
11) Accept all entries until you get to PASSWORD
12) Change password from "web" to "wap" (yes, they got the password wrong)
13) Voila.

J.R. it took the Comcast person I spoke too a little longer to setup than I expected. It's new technology to them too. The modem needed a couple of reboots as it had to upgrade its firmware. After around four reboots I was up and running. Sign into your modem and take a look what it's doing using http://192.168.100.1 I think.

Also, if you use Twitter, Comcast have a great customer service account at @comcastcares. You can DM your account details and they'll turn around a response pretty quickly. Hope that helps.

I also installked a Motorola SB6120 (from Amazon) and upgraded to Comcast Ultra. I was told by the Comcast rep that I only had to reboot and the new speed would be there. According to Speedtest.net, Speakeasy.com and Network Magic speed test I have noticed no increase in either upload or download performance. So far all I seem to have accomplished is an increase in my Comcast bill.

Hi David,

Very interesting site! Glad to see other mobile enthusiasts out there. I have to admit, I've never owned a Blackberry Bold and you've outlined some compelling reasons why it's better than the iPhone. However, call me a fool, but not sure I can part ways with my beloved iPhone. :-)

Cheers!

How is the voice quality while vpn on your laptop *and* on a conference call (and how do folks on the other end perceive your call quality). I've witnessed mixed results as a recipient of calls from some folks with VOIP. For international calls, I'm sure it's equal, but what about home office telecommuter?
